“𝕭𝖎𝖙𝖊 𝖒𝖞 𝖘𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖞 𝖒𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖑 𝖆𝖘𝖘!”¹
“I am the spirit that always denies; and rightly so: for everything that exists deserves to perish; it would be better if nothing existed. So, everything you call sin, destruction, in short, what is meant by evil, that is my element.”²
The roaring forges, the metallurgic factories, and industrial machines are all in motion. They channel raw energy and creative force, dismantling what is old and worn to give birth to something new. This is our cycle, our rhythm of destruction and creation.
Metal music, with its electrified riffs, wild percussion, and powerful vocals, is an anthem of strength and passion. It continues to shatter the outdated norms of the old world to forge a new existence, embracing every facet of the human being.
Like the material and the music it gave its name to, metal is defined by undeniable intensity. It resonates in clothing, in the passionate commitment to art, music, culture, and community. This culture celebrates individuality, freedom of expression, and inner strength. It is a reminder of the brutality of justice, the force of resilience, and the vast diversity of the world.
“My friend, you still speak wisely. There is indeed, to be reborn, a very natural way, but it’s in another book, and it’s quite a strange chapter.”³
We, the visual artists shaping culture through images, materials, and objects — Alexia Rogiest, Bilge Keskin, Céline Prignon, Elea Estella, Louise Assouly, Paul Pitois, Pauline Rutté, Siham Le Meur, Sünnkyrke, Tatiana Vejić, and Winju — have gathered here for metal and through metal. Just like Herzog, Summer Satana, Slutmachete and Winju — who sculpt silence with sound,
metal!
